I found this article deeply interesting and relevant, and ordered the book as a result. I confess that I see more of myself in some of this than I would like to admit. The Atlantic had the title as 'Negativity Can Ruin Relationships', and that is true, but the part about insecurity being the root cause of many breakups made a bigger impact on me.
There's lots to unpack here, and no doubt much more in the book, but you can start with this and see where it takes you:
Some couples, of course, are better off splitting up, but far too many of them sabotage a relationship that could have worked.
